CELEBRATION SUNDAY FEBRUARY 05, 2023
By
Rev. Dr. Katherine Carboo, Pastor.
The first Lord’s Day gathering of the Gaithersburg and Germantown Campus of CCIWC’s 2023 was indeed an occasion for celebration. Having been denied the usage of our gathering sanctuary because of federal holidays fiat, February 05, became our first Lord’s Day celebration of the year.
And to God Almighty be all the Glory! It was a great and inspirational celebration of Our King of Kings, Our Great I AM, Our one and only CELEBRANT, Savior Jesus, the Christ! In a thought provoking and self-evaluating Sermon, themed: “That I may know Him”, (Philippians 3:10) the General Overseer, and Head Pastor of Calvary Chapel International, the Rev. Pastor Shawn J. Murphy provided the congregants a litmus test for self-assessment. He brought to bear on all hearts an awakening. He struck the chords that touched the very core of the walk of a true Christian and continuous faith in Christ. He stressed: “So long as God Almighty calls Our Savior Jesus Christ the Corner Stone and Believers Living Stones, God intended for us to be aligned and be joined permanently to Christ for Eternity.
He underscored the deep yearning of our God whose heart palpitates towards us to equally
reciprocate by having Him as our Heart-throb”! (Acts 17: 27) Halleluiah! He reiterated, the urgent need for all to have our hearts palpitate after Our Father God Almighty even as our world is becoming so troubled by the day, referencing Psalm 121:1-2, as our daily focal point. Despise not small beginnings, it is written in Zechariah 4:10. Never set your judgement on numbers of
congregants. Not on denominations or names of Pastors or personalities. Set your eyes on the God of creation who determines our existence and the purposes of our lives. He loves us all unconditionally, he concluded.
